Hand surgery

Hand surgery entails conservative and surgical treatments of injuries that are inflicted to the complexly formed anatomic region of the hand and the hand joint.

The aim of hand-surgical procedures is to relief pain and both restore and maintain feeling, mobility, strength and stability of the hand. The conservative treatment of hand impairments consists of applications and monitoring by stabilising and corrective splints, active or passive physiotherapy and local anti-inflammatory or pain-inhibiting therapy, which are conducted by professional occupational therapists.
